OK, so here is my little gale digital scholar lab results! I selected “mixed race” as my search term, and chose about 20 articles. The results are interesting; “black” and “white” are the top words most frequently used, which tells you a bit about the demographic imagined when discussing multiraciality. A lot of the articles seemed to be UK based; is this a Gale Digital Scholar lab a UK site? That probably throws the data off. Additionally, there were no articles passed 2018. Perhaps different terminolody is used, but I’ve read many an article using “mixed-race” since then, so I think the sampling is off. Anyways, fun lab! Results check out.
