Emma's Portfolio

Hi there! My name is Emma Kumano-Maloney, and I am a 4th year Sociology and English major at Grinnell College. Beyond my studies, I serve as the Media Head for The Sequence Magazine, the Arts Editor for The Scarlet and Black, a Digital Humanities Fellow for the Vivero Innovation Fund, a Grant Writer for The Marcus Harris Foundation, and an Undergraduate Researcher for The Mellon Foundation.

While Sociology, Art, and English are distinct disciplines, the skills I’ve gained in each have shaped my ability to view the world through a critical lens and create work that is both human and humanizing.

As a researcher, artist, and writer, I am passionate about telling meaningful and compelling stories.
