As Arts Editor for The Scarlet & Black, Grinnell College’s independent student newspaper, I pitch, edit, and layout articles using InDesign. I manage a team of writers and regularly reach out to contacts for story leads. I have edited and laid out each article from August of 2024-May of 2025, and have written a few articles of my own. Grant Writer for The Marcus Harris Foundation
As a Grant Writer for The Marcus Harris Foundation, I prepare 2-3 grants and Letters of Intent (LOIs) weekly on behalf of three distinct nonprofit organizations. The foundation is committed to securing funding for nonprofits that serve underserved families and children, ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive. I write grants for both private and governmental grantmakers, ensuring each proposal effectively showcases the nonprofit’s mission while aligning with the specific requirements of the grantmaker.
