Thus far, I have accomplished a building of the bones of the Laetitia Moon Conard Biography Website. I have created tabs that categorize her life that, while they are likely to be changed and reordered, currently make the biography navigable. I am currently considering how to tell her story more thoughtfully, rather than simply navigably convenient. I think that Dr Ferguson’s Sociological perspective calls for a ‘private facing’ and ‘public facing’ categorization, but it may be more fruitful to tell Laetitia’s life in a holistic way.
Some issues I’ve encountered include a difficulty in figuring out HOW to tell Laetitia’s story. I know we want a visually appealing, navigable site, but I also want to be thoughtful in our storytelling. How can I tell a holistic story while also following the categorizations of my project lead?
As I continue this project, I plan on following the categorizations to help build out a website, but then I hope to move things into a more publicly accessible structure. By that, I mean I want to do what Dr. B did, by adopting the ‘a 5th grader could know what you’re talking about’ mentality in telling Laetitia’s story, while also remaining true to the scholarly roots of the project. I don’t know; I’m very tired.
